Previous to that, I had never really thought about being thrown off the boat by another boat smashing into me in otherwise relatively benign conditions. I never thought to take those precautions when slowly and peacefully gliding along in fog... especially on a weekday, when most of the weekend warriors are not out on the water, speeding around with no lights, radio, or horn signals.
