I have both Standard Horizon and Icom HTs. The Icom has better sound both receiving and transmitting. The HX-370S is rugged enough to pound in nails with and was easily modded to do ham radio frequencies with a program SH gave me for free. Icom is nowhere near that cooperative when trying to modify their radios. YMMV
