Nope. Touche' does not have the J-Hook(s).
Touche's collar is free floating. Hence the reason I attached all the halyard
turning blocks to the mast, not the deck.
It was the turning blocks pressing down on the collar when the mast sunk that
cause the bind in the head door.

>Many of us and I think you too Dennis,
on Touche, have those “J” hooks which fasten to the mast inside the
cabin and the collar outside. Mine are not adjustable but I must say I have
never experienced problems with doors caused either by backstay tension (the
most I have ever used is 3000 lbs) or sitting on the hard…my boat rests
on blocks below its keel and 6 jack stands, 3 per side which bear some of the
weight of the boat, I tightened those adjustable stands hand tight only using
the
wing nut adjusters, no mechanical multiplier, and I check them regularly during
winter storage because we often get several freeze / thaw cycles during winter,
like over the last month for example. Interior doors always swing and close
freely

>Not sure if this applies at all because of the different
construction, but Touche's (35-1) head door stuck closed when I cranked on the
backstay. The cause was a collapsing mast step. The mast pulled
down pushing the mast collar down causing the deck to push down and bind the
door.

>So, my question, does your boat(s) have any way that the collar can be pushed
down when you tighten the rig or backstay? Is there one of those
turnbuckles that attach the collar to the mast? If so, can you
adjust/loosen the turnbuckle enough to prevent the distortion.
