Your SONAR projects a pretty narrow beam, Curtis. It is like looking through a telescope. At close range, you have a very narrow view. In shallower water, it may not even cover the width of your boat.

A typical Sonar beam is about 20 degrees. The footprint in 10 feet of water is a little over 3 feet in diameter. The same 20 degree beam in 50 feet of water has about a 17 foot diameter footprint.

I was thinking that I would need to separate them so as not to interfere with each other? I was thinking my C&C30 MK1 was a solid Glass bottom "Not Cored)? if the new transducers can see 300 feet deep can it not see forward the 25' of separation from one end to the other of the boat?

Thanks
