All, My efforts were all for naught!
I encountered 2 problems: 1. I have a inch propeller shaft and 1 1/4 OD cutlass bearing. I tried to use a 1" steel nipple and it was too thick. 1" electrical conduit only pushed against the rubber. 2. The bolt holes were not centered on the shaft, so they were pulling the rear plate at an angle. I could make a new plate, but only if I solve problem 1. The G10 was plenty strong, and 10 inch bolts were just long enough. Suggestions? Joel 301 541 8551
