You could try this of tea light candles and clay planter pots for a heater
on board - as recommended by Practical Boat Owner..  I haven't tried it,
but it looks like a neat idea.

When I did the refit of Bojangles, I used a propane tank heater (that you
thread into a 20lb tank) on board to keep the boat warm while I slaved away
all winter long.  Worked like a charm, and while I can't comment on all the
ones out there, this one was rated safe for indoor use when I bought it..
(I also used it extensively when we lost power before Christmas and it
worked like a charm)
