Ron — I’ve lived here all my life, so since late 1959. So yes, I apparently survived that winter (although I don’t particularly remember it per se…), as well as many subsequent ones. How about early winter 1982, when we got 36” of snow in an afternoon/evening? Or the year in the early 70’s when I still had my paper route, and walked around delivering newspapers in -60F windchill and blizzard conditions?
Kinda makes one wonder why we live here, doesn’t it? :^) But it does make the sailing season sweeter.
