Before you replace another pump, try headlube - available at West Marine (and others). I was about to venture into another replacement project when this was suggested. My pump wasn't drawing water from the thru hull, but was pumping OK into the holding tank. I put the lube in, and after about 15 pumps, here came the water! No project.
