I watched part of the race live and then watched the rest today. Man, did Oracle suck.
That tack at the leeward mark - Notwithstanding the fact that they totally bollocksed the tack, it begs the question as to why they'd tack there anyway. They headed for the slow side of the course AND didn't bother to cover. I can see not covering if you're headed for a faster route, but if you're not and you let your opponent break cover, you're f--ked. Shoot, I've seen Optis sail better races than those guys did yesterday. It's still a long series though... I wouldn't count them out until it's over.
