Just make sure the chain is right for the sprocket.  Aside from that I
can't think of a good reason to change from what you have.  Though, I don't
recall being shocked by the Edson price for a chain and wire.  I've
definitely come to a point in life where I start to appreciate the value of
my time fiddling and piecing things together just to save a few bucks.
