I did mine 2x and if you are comfortable with working with goopy stuff, like 
SIKA 295 or GE SILICONE then it should be easy, but here are a few pointers:

If you router it, see if you can keep the bit cool.  Otherwise a local internal 
stress develops which will result in premature crazing.  If possible, have 
water nearby, to keep the bit cool.

Clean everything really well especially the old residue from the alu frame.

Mask everything off that doesn't want silicon on it

Support the glass while curing so it doesn't settle too deep and starve the 
joint.

Tool a smooth concave bead while still gel like

Remove the masking after initial cure.
