I have seen people use $50 propane camping stoves to replace 2 burner alky stoves. It is safe with appropriate precautions.
I have a CNG 4 burner stove and oven. I absolutely LOVE it except the fuel is getting harder to find and is quite expensive. Until the last kitchen remodel it was better than the stove in my house.
