FYI our local Sams Club has rebadged DEKA AGM batteries selling with an
Energizer label. They are Group 27s and are under $200 if memory serves. They
also have a wet cell 4D for around $160. My AGM 4D at West Marine is now around
$600 (OUCH).

Thanks, gang. I think I'll have a scotch with myself and then make an informed
decision. Chocolate or vanilla....?

I have 4 of them in the house bank on my 38, and 2 old ones (circa 2004) in my

the subject of batteries came up a few weeks ago, based on my experience
working with Johnson Controls for more than 20 years as a product manager,
aftermarket merchandising manager, and as an engineering manager for
construction equipment and fork lift trucks, these are high quality and a great
value.

Has anyone had experience with Walmart's EverStart Marine Battery 27DC-850N?
The units on sale here are made by Johnson Controls. They seem like a good deal.
