Wow, Dwight. Based on the PHRF Red/White/ and Blue book information
published by US Sailing, the guys with the 25 Mk1 and Mk2 in your area have
the lowest ratings in North America and the guy wilt the 27-1 has close to
the highest. Are these boats modified in any significant fashion?

Following is the low, high, and mean base rating info for 2012 from 60 local
PHRF fleets available on the US Sailing site. If you are a US Sailing member
you can get all the specific ratings for each region - but that's a huge
amount of data for over 5000 boat models

C&C 27-3 OB 174 179 174

C&C 27-3 SD 188 188 186

I note that the rating for the 27-3 IB is not divisible by 3, so the real
rating is probably either 204 or 207.

On balance, I guess I should be happy with the 222 rating for my 25 OB.

And I'd guess the 25-2 base rating is lower than the 25-1 rating because the
standard keel is 5" deeper than on the 25-1.

But standard boat for standard boat, the numbers say the 25s and 26s should
compete fairly closely.

And for what it's worth Sam but not to create an argument, the 25 MKI full
keel will do a number on your 26 going to weather, both boats equally well
sailed.
