With soda blasting water will take care of the media…soda should not be a big environmental problem anywhere…water will not dissolve sand so the media persists and will have to be cleaned up…used soda or dry ice and catch the environmental hazardous paint that is removed and take it for safer disposal than on the ground in your marina

I doubt he really meant sand blasting though right? Isn't that no longer allowed anywhere? ---------- Original Message ---------- From: Chuck S <cscheaf...@comcast.net> To: cnc-list@cnc-list.com Subject: Re: Stus-List New owner wants a nice healthy bottom Date: Thu, 18 Apr 2013 19:52:26 +0000 (UTC) I guess yard vary. Last month I got a price for soda blasting my 35.5 ft boat, that was $1740. A strip, barrier coat and bottom paint will cost about $ 3,000.00. The sand blasting will cost between $700 and $900., The barriercoat materials will cost around $450 including sundries, and the labor around$900. The bottom painting(2) coats will cost $500 in labor and about $300 in materials. This pricing does not include any blister repairs that may be needed after sandblasting. I guess my next question should be about the Barrier coat and Bottom paint manufacturer and line, right. So the cost of sandblasting and barrier coat is between $2050 and $2250 That more in line with where I was hoping it would be. Any Comments? More than I wanted it to be! LOL At least now I have a better idea of what it may cost. I'll have to digest it for a bit. I'd love to just get it done but, I didn't want to drop anther $4k into her right now... Ugh Maybe I'll try and get another year out of her... Seems to be in line with what others are saying. $4050 for the 35' boat which includes: 1. Soda blasting 2. 4 barrier coats of 2000e 3. 2 coats Interlux micron bottom paint Which Interlux micron, I didn't ask. Maybe I should. Any thoughts are appreciated.
