Maybe soda blasting is more than sand blasting? I doubt he really meant sand
blasting though right? Isn't that no longer allowed anywhere?

Okay I just got a price from the yard for a bottom job (he he Thats funny!) A
strip, barrier coat and bottom paint will cost about $ 3,000.00. The sand
blasting will cost between $700 and $900., The barriercoat materials will cost
around $450 including sundries, and the labor around$900. The bottom
painting(2) coats will cost $500 in labor and about $300 in materials. This
pricing does not include any blister repairs that may be needed after
sandblasting. I guess my next question should be about the Barrier coat and
Bottom paint manufacturer and line, right. So the cost of sandblasting and
barrier coat is between $2050 and $2250 That more in line with where I was
hoping it would be. Any Comments? DannyLolita1973 Viking 33Westport Point, MA

have a better idea of what it may cost. I'll have to digest it for a bit. I'd
love to just get it done but, I didn't want to drop anther $4k into her right
now... Ugh Maybe I'll try and get another year out of her... Danny

I just contacted the nearest marina that can haul me and asked them for an
estimate. Seems to be in line with what others are saying. $4050 for the 35'
boat which includes: 1. Soda blasting2. 4 barrier coats of 2000e3. 2 coats
Interlux micron bottom paint Which Interlux micron, I didn't ask. Maybe I
should. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Ron, Welcome. I assume you mean the centerboard does not lower all the
way? I've got a keel model. my main concern would be the
condition of the cable. I had Osprey Marine at Herrington Harbor South soda
blast, epoxy and paint the bottom of my boat 1 1/2 years ago. They did 4
coats of epoxy, 2 of paint. 35/3The OfficeAnnapolis

Finally, if anyone knows a provider in the Rhodes River (just South of

contact info on that.
And yes we will do a name change ceremony with champagne sloshed and
swallowed appropriately.
