We picked up Alera at Niagara on the Lake, C&C's home town. She was
painted there and I'm pretty sure there a laws there against anything
other that the original paint on the waterline stripes!
Here's a picture after the bottom was redone with the original paint
from the waterline up. I personally love the original three stripes.

Note, the Awlgrip was topped off with clear coat. So, Lynn doesn't
have to wax the boat every year anymore like she did with Jubilee,
our 35 MK1. Sure make her pretty and much easier to keep up (Alera,
not Lynn!), If anyone is repainting their hull, I would sure
recommend doing it!
Joe, you really ought to take a run at the C&C 38 Landfall on
ebay. Especially if the seller will agree to the purchase being
subject to the usual Survey, mechanical and rigging inspections and a
sea trial.

All,
Just a quick request for people's opinions . . .
As soon as the temps get above 50 here in New York, once of
my Spring projects is to redo the three waterline boot stripes.
Originally, it's navy, red, navy, but was wondering if anyone had
changed it to a different color (like three red stripes).

Or is it better to keep it the classic way? Thoughts?
All the best,
Edd
