I think you pretty much have to paint the boot stripe on a 37+. The stripe needs to get noticeably wider toward the bow and it gets very wide where it turns and passes under the stern. Certainly if vinyl it would have to be custom cut unless you were going to overlap multiple runs of tape. I've seen overlap on a 35 Mk.1 and that does look OK if you don't get too close.
