I've had mine for 13 years and love it. It is stiff, but it is really well behaved. I run mine with a 145 as a mid point between light air and heavier air. If I were to do it (headsail) again, which I will be in the near future, I'll go to a 130 or 135 sail. I have my lines running to the cockpit too. The one thing I really like is having the winches and traveler within easy reach of the helm. Very easy to single hand. My wife who is 5.2 finds the width of the cocpit just a bit too far for her to brace against,
but then again she doesn't have to too much.

Ditto the other comments, the 30-1 rides like its a train on rails. When I've been dumb enough to try to get the rail in the water I can ....but it takes 25-30 knots and flying everything (full main, 135 headsail), which just makes her slower.... one reef and a bit of furl and she will pull the rail a few inches out of the water, raise her bow a bit and then scream along ... and make you wonder why most of the others are back in the marina because its "too windy"..Had ours 7 years and been very happy.

    Hi Folks,
So we are considering upgrading to a C&C30 Mk1 from our little 24.
One the things I want to make sure of before we go and spend vast
sums of money (to us at least) is whether my wife is going to feel
comfortable on it. She's not a big fan of heeling, and although I
told her the 30 is way stiffer than our little 24, won't heel as
much or as quickly etc, she doesn't seem to believe me.
I was wondering therefore if there were any local Mk1 30' owners
that might be willing to take us out for an afternoon one weekend?
We'd be happy to rent/pay for your time, either monetary or a few
bottles/cases of something. Anyway, long-shot but it never hurts
    to ask.
    Cheers,
    Paul.
