I'm going to take your advice and add the second reef. And some cringles because right now the reefed part of the main just hangs there in a mess, obstructs visibility, causes windage. She was laid up in late 1982 and delivered in early 1983. We are the second owner and purchased her in 1999. One advantage of the later hulls is the finish work below is much more robust and better than the early hulls. As near as I can tell, C&C built about 475 of the 34 in the period 1978 through 1982. A remarkable manufacturing record especially in light of all the other models they were building at the time. I know of 7 34's here in the local area. Ours was in fresh water with the PO and we are on salt, but there is no corrosion and the original gel coat is like brand new. Original Yanmar just keeps purring along. Handles like a dream. Races its PHRF very well and have the silver to prove it. Cruises very comfortably. Solid construction. A way of life puttering about fixing and maintaining stuff. Oh did I mention we REALLY like her??
