I think we're very lucky to be able to gloat about our good fortune. The greatest part to my mind is the tremendous variety of human needs that boating satisfies, be it sail or power, mega yacht or punt.
Hobbies from wiring to woodwork, painting to plumbing etc, we do them all, or what we can. It gives us the opportunity to socialize or be alone as we wish. You can't go for much more than a 5 hour non stop drive, but you can sail around the world if you wish without stopping. I'm simply grateful for a life-long preoccupation that has given me many great things. Yes, we are fortunate indeed. If we hadn't spent the money on sailing, it would have disappeared in some other way. I'd rather be poor and on the water than wealthy and dry. Rich Knowles Indigo.
