I keep a portable VHF, binoculars, and portable GPS, in the drink and binocular tray above the pedestal compass, and they don't seem to effect the compass, maybe cause they are above it, and not on the same plain? I use the digital Autohelm for a compass and it's fairly close to the Sailcomp Fluxgate we have. I should double check.
