I use an old 0.5oz in a sock for cruising, with the reasoning being that I
wouldn't want to fly a spinnaker in stronger winds while cruising anyway.
It turns out I do...  This year I have had it up in 15-20 true, but only
close to downwind, and only because it's old anyway.  I would take it down
much earlier than that for any reaching.
