Martin, You want Cruiser's Forum.
Like any list, it's got its share of crankpots and armchair sailors, but overall it's a fabulous resource for cruisers. Way better, imho, than things like Sailnet. It also has incredible reach (social networking?) within the cruising community. For example, last year my boat was on a mooring in a quiet bay (ie: normally only a couple boats moored) in the Hamptons while I was back home. I got a message from a CF 'lister' who had rowed past my boat, noticed some chafe on the mooring pennant, and then notified me online so I could deal with it. I've never met the guy (online or in person) but all he had to do is plug my boat name into CF and he could send me a message - for which I was very thankful. I've had similar things happen a few more times via CF while the boat was in the US, Bermuda, and the Caribbean, and for me, this kind of networking really adds to the value of the website.
