Topic: about CLUG-TALK LIST
Why be confused? Amount of time these emails have been sent has little
to do with the issue really.
I approved it as a collaborative effort to see how it would work out.
Sounded like a good idea at the time.
You and I are not confused because we know all about it being members of
both clubs.
My question is not about people like us, but relating to those looking
to join or get involved with the Calgary Linux Users Group. This is a
signal to noise ratio problem.
CUUG events news emails could be better served by creating a new
CLUG-LIST for those that want to sign up. Something like
clug-at-cuug-events or similar may work?
This is my point of view at the moment looking at if from the point of C
L U G talk and events moderator.
When some one walks in to the meeting and tells me "I'm new and showed
up but was unsure of what club this meeting is for when he read the
clug-talk list? Yes he wanted GNU/Linux.
It is not his fault because an intelligent, articulate person showed up.
So that leave's the question of how we are using the media.
For everyone who speaks up there is a much greater number who leave and
*hopefully* do not pass on their experience. (Part of Customer Service 101)
I see no other way to resolve this. If you can not see this it would
seem this is a Calgary Linux Users Group problem and not your problem.
I would both like to keep up the communication between the two clubs and
also keep mail list topics very pertinent and useful to our
subscribers/members.
Comments from clug-talk subscribers are welcome on or off list.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mel,
I am confused about the source of confusion. :-P
This is the same format I’ve been sending CLUG-talk notices
of CUUG meetings for several years.
Cheers,

Please Note: This message is about a CUUG event not CLUG.
For those interested on the CLUG-talk list let me know if you find
this confusing as I all ready got a comment from a new comer who was
not really sure at first which club meeting he was attending?
Thanks
