My guess is if clug went into a sleep mode it would end up being the long sleep.
I saw this coming years ago and made many suggestions over the years about how
clug should/could change. But they fell on deaf ears. I even tried my hand at
the executive figuring that might give me more opportunities to promote change.
It didn't and I was basically ignored in favour of status quo at the time. And
being more of a social club. Lol at our ranks now and how many if the gurus of
old are still around or active.
I think the nature of technology has changed a lot...as has Linux adoption and
integration. It isn't as hard as it ysed to be and other os's have been
maintained their holds...mostly due to user apathy. What does this mean for
clug...I don't know.
Do we join up with another group? Do we broaden the scope to include open
source on other os's? Do we become a sort of think tank...or lab...where we
create and test solutions and post results? Do we become a consultancy? Do we
curl up and die? Do we go virtual? Do we go forward as just an email list?
Do we start from scratch?
I just don't know.
