There has been activity, no heavy traffic but interesting topics nonetheless.
So no, nothing wrong, just that Linux is flawless, we don't need to ask for
help after every program installation or system update :D Just kidding of
course. As I mentioned in clug-talk finding ways to spread Linux here in
Calgary is a noble goal. And I'd like to help out. Linux has been good to me
and my family, and now it's time to give back.

Sure, that's an easy fix.

Squid, DansGuardian and Openfire IM transports worked great for me when my kids
were learning the Internet ropes. Have found references to the first two
scattered across MLs. Having a HowTo section would be a good addition to
clug.ca and a bridge between unexperienced users and the club meetings. Yes,
there are plenty of articles "out there", but links on Internet are not
persistent (although they should). If there is interest I can certainly help
with writing it.

Are Vim and Emacs only for geeks? With everyone using a computer today,
learning a powerful editor isn't a bad thing. Granted, I've met developers that
hate both.

Having all the topics nicely organized makes it easy to contact schools and
demonstrate what Linux can do. Kids will love it. Parents will be surprised to
see the other (bright) side of today's software (Edubuntu or Fedora Education
anyone?). And schools may even be interested to learn about software tools with
names that don't start with Microsoft. Yeah, you can get disk encryption
without paying for a "professional" license and one that works with actual
passwords not a password-less usb stick.

Thank you, Mel and will see you on Apr-8.
