I did a backup with rsync today and had a problem. I used this command: rxync -avrh /home/joe /media/backup/ I realized --numerial-ids should have been numeric-ids, but a little to late. Rsync only copied some of the files over and erased a lot of my installation in /home and / . I had to reinstall. My question is why wouldn't rsync complain if the option was wrong? Or was this something else that is a problem?
