*** Sooo...basically what you are saying is FSTAB mounts.  ;-)

I would imagine this is pretty simple.  Would I have to set up mounts
for each folder (i.e library, media, etc.) or just one at the root of
the NAS?  I woudl back it up anyways....but should that be necessary or
would it recognize what was already there?

*** Thanks for your insight.  Essentially the NAS sits downstairs out of
the way.  Upstairs hanging off the router is an external USB drive with
I have lovingly called the "Oh Crap Drive" (OCD for short)...for the
likley once in a lifetime instance when the house was on for or
something....you would say, "OH CRAP the house is on fire" & grab the
drive.  The external drive that leaves the house is for those cases when
say you are out...and like a flood situation...say you can't get to the
house you have your data with you.
