Hello all of you who helped me. Thank you Lance for the link to that site.
When I looked at the site I saw how easy it was to install the ntpd . I just did an su, aptitude update, and then aptitude install ntp on both computers and now both computers are keeping time more accurately. Thanks again for everyone who helped.
