Having said that, I have had an https, ssh, openvpn server running 24/7 for years without hassle. You only get called when you start abusing bandwidth. I am not sure what their formula is, but it does seem to favour uploading.

Since they don't lock you in to a long term contract, you can pretty much leave at will. I have left them a couple of times and they did not make the offers that the DSL providers made to try and retain me (ie. I did not have a lot of success playing games with them). I did get the promotional price for the advertised length of time, but did not get much more than that. Having said that, the product is far superior to their competitors so in the end I chose the product that I liked. Deep discounts are nice but I am addicted to 15Mbit and can not imagine going back to DSL, even if it were free.
