Honestly most people don't care. Even I don't care, I already have a modern OS that not only runs on those platforms, but powers Windows update as well :)

As an aside I am running Windows 7 at home (on the only Windows machine I own actually) and it can still be made to bring my AMD FX-60 to its knees. That sidebar is a memory and CPU hog.
