I'll check it all out and post you message. Then I can arrange a time and
place to get the hardware to you. I'd much prefer that it was able to be reused
and this sounds like a perfect way.

We
have
been
loading
Edubuntu
because
of
it's
educational
bent.
If
the
machines
are
too
slow
for
that,
I
have
been
playing
with
Damn
Small
Linux
but
that
would
likely
work
for
older
kids
only.

Basically,
we
salvage
old
hardware,
load
Linux
and
Open
Source
software
on
it
and
give
it
back
to
the
community
(at
no
cost
of
course).
In
return,
we
get
an
opportunity
to
let
people
know
that
Linux
and
Open
Source
exists
and
get
to
go
to
events
like
Climb
for
Wilderness
and
spread
the
word.

Regards,

Kin

Re:
[clug-talk]
hardware

Hi,
Kin.

I've
not
heard
of
Linux4Kids
before,
but
I
do
have
access
to
two
old
boxes
that
ran
Win
95.
Would
they
be
suitable
for
your
purposes?

:-?

If
there
are
others
interested,
thats
great,
if
not
I
have
monitors
with
no
boxes.
We
don't
need
much
in
terms
of
spec,
just
a
minimum
of
a
pIII,
128M
(more
is
always
nicer).

There
is
another
upcoming
Climb
for
Wilderness
coming
up
in
April
that
we
get
to
show
off
Linux4Kids
(CLUG
sneaks
in
there
as
well).
