A couple points Kin. First, I think we need to give the rest of the
exec a chance to respond, and I'm sure Szemir has real work to do during
the day, rather than responding to long winded emails like mine. :) So
I think a little patience is in order before we assume the worst.

Also, this IS a somewhat political issue. I know there are some people
on the list sitting back and thinking "where did this come from?", or
just wanting to avoid politics, so are monitoring things to see what
falls out of it.

Like you said, anytime there is more than one person, there's politics.
But we do need to be fair and get the full picture.

I think you might be jumping the gun here just a bit... :) Any talk
about LinuxFest seems to generate interest. And it is a topic just
asking for opinions (ask 100 programmers/techs an opinion on a topic,
and you'll get 100 different responses). I think we need to
periodically air out the laundry so we can move forward in a positive
manner. If we don't, then people will just leave. I know I've been
close to that choice for the past while, and we have lost some other key
people from the list as well. But lets let the communication happen so
we can get past this.

For the Exec.
The LF07 conversation was nipped in the bud in June. And again in
September. We received instructions on 29 Sept not to "enter into any
communications with outside agencies about locations or dates until
we've had a closer look at this. Any contact with these
groups/institutions will happen when ready." It's now been almost three
months. When can we take part?
