I beg to differ. I don't doubt how heavily the exec might be engaged on this issue. However, alarm bells are bound to go off, as well as the general restlessness that seems apparent, when there is little communication 6 months after the last event. One 'generally' assumes 'annual' events are held at the same 'time' each year, and, as has been mentioned, they do consume several months of pre-event tasks. From the 'outside' it does seem 'secretive' as you put it. Didn't last year's planning sessions lay the ground work? It's easy to brush off or discount so called 'agony'. However, I think the exec needs to take 'ownership' of the membership's confusion. Heck, I wasn't 'aware' there was planning going on. Will there be a 'separate' planning committee? The north west lug 2007 fest site has a link to CLUG's fest .... but for 2006. But like you said, all this should be behind us by end of this week.
