Hey Group,

Neil, was showing LMMS off to a few of us at InstallFest.

I've been looking for sequencing software under Linux for a while and Neil said
that this comes in
the latest Ubuntu. I checked when I got home and SuSE 10.1 also had it in the
repository. I
installed it and whammo, it's in, no glitches and it seems to work like a
champ. I haven't hooked
up my MIDI keyboard to it yet but I don't anticipate any problems with that.

I have given Muse a go but it seemed to have some issues with JACK either not
being installed or
not configured correctly. It seemed like an insurmountable challenge for me so
I was glad that this
came along.

I was fairly impressed with LMMS' built in patches. It seems to have a
straight-forward interface
and shouldn't take too long to get a handle on.

FYI, LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) is a tracker/sequencer program similar to
the likes of Cubase.
Check their site for more info:

http://lmms.sourceforge.net/

Thanks Neil!

Jarrod
