Dumb answer: It's your car man, you're probably the only one that knows if it can handle it. If it were me, I'd go for it, especially since it's spring now, you know you won't be broken down on the top of a mountain in -40 weather. I drove Calgary to Vancouver and back last fall in an '84 Nissan without any problems.
