Go for it, I did it more than once in a 1969 Chrysler pulling a huge 
trailer both ways. I just about fainted when the _huge_ gas bill came 
in though :-(

Vee-Dubs go f o r e v e r using MUCH less fuel. Of course if you're 
hearing strange noises coming from under the hood all bets are off ;-)
