I'm sure you'll get a response or two from the group regarding a programmer
with PalmOS (or other PDA) skills. Unfortunately, that's not me...

BUT......

With regards to a barcode scanner, I had to do some work with these things in
the past 6 months or so... A bar code scanner is treated like another input
device, and feeds a simple alpha numeric block of text to the computer. The
ones I was working with "just worked" without any driver installations, or
configurations. But, it was also possible to reconfigure them to behave
differently (i.e. append a carriage return at the end of the scanned text or
not...). So, our application then became nothing more than a simple business
app, which just happened to use a bar code scanner - there was no special
coding needed to make the scanner work.

If you are going to do scanning from a PDA, then things could be different
(never had to do anything like that... yet...), I suspect not though.

My thoughts.. hope this helps some...
