Not really. The roads in Saskatchewan are practically a danger to motorists. Going over the speed limit there is at your own risk. I was busy trying to make time on my last trip out there (at night) when I suddenly discovered a generous section of Highway 40 (west) was ripped up. I was transplanted into a sandy rally race with little warning (there were signs, but they didn't do justice to what was coming. I've never seen a highway like that EVER. Not even in Saskatchewan.). Scared the crap outta me. Sensibly, they are replacing that section of road due to dangerous deterioration caused by heavy trucking traffic. The road was no longer smooth or level and getting caught in one of the ruts in the pavement while trying to pass was a dodgy situation at best. Having grown up in Saskatchewan, I'll be the first to both defend it's finer points and criticize the weaker ones. Bottom line in Sask.: the roads are terrible.
