here's the funny part... the first two lines are in httpd.conf.... so
i uncommented those... commented the includeifile (which has the same
two lines)... and uncommented the addtype stuff.
and viola... php on... no more crashy.

trying to deleted the httpd.conf in lee folder... no avail...
that, and no matter what i try and do, as admin, os x (in cmd line)
keeps telling me i'm not allowed to edit files, copy, them, or
delete them.
any clues?

And that's why, if linux isn't the best for the desktop, it is still a
better choice for servers. And I think desktop will catch up with OS X
sometime.
