I recently purchased a house, and one of the things I did was get setup with Shaw High Speed Internet. I went with one of their bundles.
While I was setting that up I asked about what their monthly traffic limits are. Nobody there could really answer that question. Although they generally said unless your a consistent hardcore abuser there isn't one.
Generally speaking I'm not a massive downloader, but I'm interested. Does anybody know what their traffic limit is?
I know their small business package has a 50GB up/down traffic limit. Is it similar for the home offering.
Well no, technically the limit for home customers is usually given as 15 Gig up/down. If you go with the Xtreme (or whatever they're calling it) that pushes you to 50. That said in general if you're under 30-40 up/down (with the majority being down) you're not going to get hassled (in my experience at least). If you do go crazy on the uploading they will come down pretty hard as Shaw's upstream bandwidth availibility is much smaller and excessive uploading will start to effect other users.
