No Promail will do this for you. You will need a POP3 server daemon though.

No that won't work. The firewall only works with individual tcp/ip packets. To 
filter spam and viruses, it would need to edit messages as a whole and not in 
peices.

That would need to be done client-side or possibly by a proxy server on the 
firewall.
