I'm pretty conservative about creating new lists. If we think the event chatter is too much for -dev then we can do this, but if we create a separate list we'll miss out on full participation. Some folks who are not going to be interested in organizing or participating events all the time may miss out when we're discussing/planning events in their backyard.
