Current builds of the Clojure "sources" jar (clojure-1.6.0-sources.jar, clojure-1.5.1-sources.jar, etc) available from the Maven Central "releases" repository contain the errant "versions.properties" file noted in issue CLJ-1161 [1] . The fix for that issue can be seen in the Central repo labelled "clojure-1239" (staging?), but not in "releases":
