I hadn't heard of practical clojure, but while we're praising books, I'd like to say that Clojure Programming is excellent. I've been reading the early access version, and while I haven't finished it, I'm almost done with the first half, which covers the core of the language. It's been incredibly helpful so far and I'm really looking forward to the practical stuff that makes up second half of the book.
