I have read large chunks of all of the (English language) Clojure books. I think "The Joy of Clojure" is the most well written of the books. It is true that I didn't start reading it until I was already familiar with Clojure, but I think that this is the one to start with. "Programming Clojure" is also a good book, but it is now somewhat dated as to what is happening in the language. The authors of "Clojure in Action" definitely know their stuff, but if you have only limited programming skills (like I do) it is at too high a level.
