I disagree. To use your terms, I think your solution is equally "sucky". Sometimes adding config parameters makes sense and sometimes it adds noise. In this case, fns eval in the order defined seems perfectly reasonable to me. Like I said, they are equally "sucky", where sucky should be defined as: I like my way better. I prefer convention over configuration in general, but that's my opinion.
