Take a look at Clojure's par branch:

It has proof-of-concept Fork/Join support, but is quite a bit out of
sync with master now. David Liebke has done some renovations on it
recently:

I seem to recall that Rich was interested in pursuing this avenue
again once Java 7 was out, but I could be wrong.
