I wrote a patch for issue #13 a few weeks back, but it was right around the 1.0 push, so I didn't want to destabilize things. Now seems like a good time to discuss it:
http://code.google.com/p/clojure/issues/detail?id=13 This uses the reader to ensure that symbols and keywords have names that are actually readable when created with the "symbol" or "keyword" function.
